Dead in Magenta is a serial webcomic mainly centered on the six protagonists Felix, Misha, Cloud Bizkit, Scrunchie Radiowave, Dog Food, and Acid Equine, and their colorful sci-fi exorcism adventures.
Heavily rooted in the visual style and lore of the television/toy franchise My Little Pony, this universe has more explicit parallels to real-world locations and concepts, mostly following the lives of two Catholic earth ponies (Felix and Misha) from the suburbs of Fillydelphia, Ponysylvania.
The younger Misha's sleezy and nomadic lifestyle attracts not only other low-life freelancing punks, but also the attention of the Angel of Death herself.
As a result of Misha's carelessness, the group of ponies who couldn't be more unalike are indebted to her, forced to do her bidding and clean up her mistakes, repair holes in space and time, and meet ancient eldritch beings both beyond comprehension and older than any element.
The nature of infinite servitude to the grim reaper is such that the naive, thoughtless ponies are required to confront their own pasts, futures, presents, and stare down the barrel of their inevitable mortality.
The story and characters are heavily influenced by early (2010-2015) MLP:FiM fan-made animations, fanfiction, and fanart that often used the characters and settings to humorously deliver stories far more serious and cynical than the source material, exploring themes of horror, death, or dark comedy.
This website hosts all available information about the world, lore, characters, and story of Dead in Magenta. In fact, this website is in many ways the story itself. The narratives within the comics are often incomplete without exploring the site, reading character-run blogs, wikis, in-universe archives, paying attention to "little" details and going down rabbit holes.
My name is Yuri Faris, AKA Dimitri AKA Dima AKA SerendipitousCommunist or Bumperfun. Really whatever name you happened upon first. My main site, which features a proper bio and a full gallery of my work, can be found by clicking the button below or by searching "https://serendipitouscommunist.neocities.org/".
This website and story is a passion project, and a very expansive one as far as one-man coding an entire interactive webcomic-host/wiki/gallery/blog goes. Because I am only one person (with the usual amount of hands), development will be slow and it may well be months before this site is anywhere close to where I want it to be. Like it says above, I would like for this website to serve every creative purpose possible for the project, including character-run blogs and a wiki. Ideally, this site will be a labyrinth that a reader could have fun getting lost in, finding secret pages and in-universe archives and connecting events to diary entries and more. I want this site to be as absolutely integral to understanding the story as reading the comic itself (and not just a wiki or something tacked on.)
